Energy Audits 101
This Energy Audits 101 session will take attendees through the basics of energy auditing. We will overview the differences between Level 1, 2 and 3 audits as defined by ASHRAE Standard 211. The presentation will then review the 4 major phases of energy auditing: Preparation (Pre-audit), Site Visit, Data Analysis, and Communications of Results. Along the way key components that make a successful energy audit will be highlighted.
Fredric Goldner, C.E.M. is founding principal of Energy Management & Research Associates. Mr. Goldner is a nationally recognized expert in the area of energy auditing and management and has lead audits and audit-teams for hundreds of facilities totaling tens of millions square feet. He is also an adjunct professor at the Center for Energy Policy & Research at NYIT. Over the past thirty+ years Mr. Goldner has taught over 13,000 professionals and trade persons across the globe, in addition to co-authoring a number of publications and books. He has received numerous awards for his work. Most notable of these was when he was inducted into the Energy Managers Hall of Fame for his lifetime of achievement in promoting the practices and principles of Energy Management. Fred sits on numerous industry committees and boards, (including serving on the ASHRAE committee that authors the Energy-Audit Standard). He currently serves as Chair of the CEM Board. Fred also served as International President of AEE for 2003.
